At Cypress Counseling & Wellness, we believe meaningful change starts with open conversations, community support, and empowering the next generation of leaders. We are proud to serve as Gold Award advisors for Eneh Oche, an incredible Girl Scout who is completing her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting.
For her project, she created a YouTube channel dedicated to normalizing mental health conversations, sharing diverse perspectives, and reminding people, especially teens, that they are not alone and that support is available. Her work addresses a critical need we see every day: reducing stigma around mental health and creating safe spaces for honest, compassionate dialogue.
Adolescence can be an especially challenging time, and many teens struggle silently. This project aims to meet young people where they are by using a platform they already engage with, offering messages of understanding, encouragement, and hope. By amplifying real experiences and emphasizing the importance of seeking support, this initiative helps foster connection and resilience within the community.
We are honored to mentor and support this project as part of our commitment to mental health education, prevention, and community outreach. Youth-led advocacy plays an essential role in shaping a more informed and compassionate future, and we are inspired by the leadership, dedication, and thoughtfulness behind this Gold Award project.
