Is there really any help for this?
At Cypress Counseling & Wellness we believe that the answer to that question, no matter the challenge you are facing, is an unequivocal YES. You may feel stuck, hopeless, or teetering on the edge. But it’s not the end of your story. Now is the time to start writing your next chapter! Our team of counselors and coaches are here to support you as you seek greater health and fulfillment in your life.
Our Services
Our Services
Counseling Services
Our counselors have experience working with individuals, couples, families and groups across the lifespan. Our team utilizes a multitude of therapies: play therapy, EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT – the acronyms could go on! We are committed to matching you with the therapist with the experience and specialties that meet your specific needs. Please explore our site to learn more about some of the therapies that we utilize and the clinicians who practice with us.
Coaching Services
Coaching is an individualized process that nurtures growth and helps catalyze long term change. Working with a coach will provide opportunities for learning, self-discovery, self-awareness, identifying strengths, developing goals and improving relationships. Our coaching team uses psycho-education and skill building to support clients struggling with mild to moderate anxiety, interpersonal challenges, goal setting, motivation, self-doubt, parenting, mindset, and ADHD.
We have clinicians specializing in children and adolescents, young adults ages 18-24, adults 25+ and couples. We are pleased to offer coaching in both English and Spanish.
Clinical Supervision
If you are an LMSW in the Houston area seeking clinical supervision towards your LCSW license, we offer individual and group supervision to help you achieve your goals. Finding the right supervisor can be a challenge, and it is critical that it is both a good professional AND relational match. To that end, we would like to offer you some information about our supervisors you can consider before you take the next step.
Groups & Classes
Groups are one of the richest ways to learn and grow. Often, clients think that they will spur less change because they are less individually focused, but in our experience the group itself offers a richness of perspective and support that adds to the growth experience rather than detracting from it. It offers a context in which our experiences are normalized and we can speak our hardest truths without fear of judgment, and feel the freedom from shame in ways that are almost impossible in a different environment.
Neurofeedback Therapy
Our team, led by a Board Certified Neurotherapist, uses QEEG Brain Mapping to establish an individualized treatment plan to help your brain become more efficient through neurofeedback training. Neurofeedback is an evidence-based way to harness the power of neuroplasticity to reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and many other disorders.
Our Methods
Our Methods
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems, which is also referred to as IFS, is an evidence-based therapeutic method that believes all of us are made up of many different “parts.” IFS helps us understand and connect to each of these different parts so we can heal trauma, find deeper self-compassion, and create new patterns that enhance our lives.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy is a form of talk therapy that is based on the principle that talking through challenges can help people identify and implement the skills they need to overcome them. It explores how things from our past are affecting us at the present moment. The goal is to bring an unconscious aspect of yourself to light so you have more freedom and choice in your current life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a highly-researched treatment for trauma and stress. By bringing the nervous system to a relaxed state, traumatic and distressful memories can be processed and dissolved.
Polyvagal Theory
Stephen Porges’ polyvagal theory explains how the autonomic nervous system can be incorporated into therapy so that the nervous system can learn how to regulate itself. The goal is to find ways to befriend the nervous system and move to calmer states.
