Jonita Colling
Somatic Healing Coach

Jonita is an Associate Counselor who understands how overwhelming life can feel—especially when someone has been carrying a lot for a long time. Many of the individuals she works with are healing from trauma, living with CPTSD, feeling disconnected from themselves, or trying to make sense of experiences that still live in their bodies. Clients don’t have to have everything figured out, and they don’t need to have words for it. Showing up is enough.

Her counseling style is warm, grounded, creative, and flexible. She strives to create a space where clients can show up just as they are—without pressure, judgment, or the need to explain everything perfectly. Her role is to walk alongside individuals as they process experiences, reconnect with their strengths, build resilience, and move forward in ways that feel authentic to them.

Jonita believes deeply in the human capacity for healing and meaningful change. She recognizes that seeking support takes courage and holds great respect for the vulnerability it requires. In her view, therapy is not about fixing what is “wrong,” but about understanding where someone feels stuck, processing what they have been through, uncovering strengths already within them, and learning to access those strengths with greater ease and compassion.

Her work is grounded in an integrated, body-centered approach. She believes unprocessed experiences are often held in the body, and that healing happens not only through talking, but through gently reconnecting with physical and emotional sensations. She draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, Brainspotting, Sensorimotor Art Therapy, and other somatic practices to support nervous system regulation and emotional processing. She also integrates DBT-informed skills to support emotional regulation and healthier relationships.

Jonita holds a special place in her heart for individuals recovering from narcissistic and emotionally abusive relationships, offering both individual and group support focused on rebuilding trust, self-connection, and a sense of safety.

She brings over 25 years of experience teaching and counseling middle and high school students, along with lived experience that deeply informs her understanding of resilience, recovery, and the importance of choice in healing.

In her space, clients are welcome to talk, sit quietly, move, shake, cry, throw paint, create art, drum, or hide behind a couch—whatever they need is welcome.
